This note is to remind you of your obligations as a pool/spa owner under the Building Regulations 2018.
For pools/spas built from 1 July 1994 to 30 April 2010
If you haven’t already, your pool/spa must be registered with your Council/Shire/Borough- and you must have provided them with a Certificate of Pool Barrier Compliance by 1 June 2023. Failure to meet this deadline can result in a significant financial penalty of $1,849.20. If you haven’t provided your Council/Shire/Borough with your Certificate of Compliance, we recommend you contact your Council/Shire/Borough and request an extension to this deadline.
For pools/spas built from 1 May 2010 to 31 October 2020
If you haven’t already, your pool/spa must be registered with your Council/Shire/Borough – and you must provide them with a Certificate of Pool Barrier Compliance by 1 June 2024. Failure to meet this deadline can result in a significant financial penalty of $1,849.20.
